Want to get your hands dirty and help protect the places we explore? Join us for one of Yuma Co.’s Environmental Service Days. We typically organize these projects once a month, usually on the first Monday, with each event focused on a different environmental cleanup or conservation project.
What to know before you join:
Transportation: Volunteers are responsible for getting themselves to and from the project site. We’ll provide the location and details ahead of each event.
Project costs: Depending on the project, there is typically a small participation cost of $10–$20 per person to help cover supplies, equipment, transportation of collected waste, or other project expenses.
Volunteer shirt: If it’s your first Service Day with us, we highly encourage you to pick up a $15 Yuma Co. Volunteer Shirt. It’s a simple way to identify our volunteers in the field and show that you’re part of the effort.
Time commitment: Projects can last anywhere from an hour to several hours depending on the location and the work involved.
After the cleanup: When the day is over, we often grab a meal together and celebrate what we accomplished. It’s completely optional, and everyone covers their own meal.
Our schedule changes throughout the year as new projects come together. Reach out to find out what we have coming up and join us for the next one.
